Best Canon Camera? I need help?

I currently have a Casio Exilim and it sucks. I don't like the resolution and when i print the pictures they don't come out very clear. I know a few people that have Canon and their pictures come out very nice and colorful. Which canon do you suggest? I am just looking for a camera to take for my vacation and take good pictures of my kids. Thank You! Also, I really don't want to spend more than $300.
