How is that "putting me in a bad position"?

So a few ours ago my brothers truck broke down when he was coming home from town. He was only a mile or two away and he and his son walked all the way back to my house, I just turned 16 and i've been getting ready to get my license. I have only driven a car before. Well my brother pushed with our other truck while i steered in front. My parents are out of town so when we got home he had to call them to tell them how we got home. Well my dad freaked out and said that doing so was putting me in a bad position. Why is he acting like this? I knew he was in a bad mood, but does he really have to make me feel like total crap. My brother said I was a pretty good driver at driving the truck, but my mom says i need work on driving the car. I personally don't like driving the car just because. Why is my dad being such a -munch?
