For Those Of You Who Live In Snowy Areas, Does This Sound Familiar?

It's a page from my story: I trudge through the eight inches of snow that had aculated overnight to get to my truck. Fluffy dust is piled up on the trunk and in the bed. I climb in, which is quite a considerable feat since I top out at a flat 5 feet tall, roll down my window, and back out of the driveway. This is not exactly the best way to go about driving, but I'm to lazy to sc off the snow. I start up the hill at a snails pace. People don't seem to realize this, but when going up a steep hill in winter, you do not gun it. Gunning it just melts the snow, which then freezes and makes it impossible for anyone else to get up the hill. Us folks that have lived on the hill all our lives gather outside on the morning after a snowstorm and watch the rookies spin into snowbanks. We Shout encouragements and advice. Our shovels are at ready to dig them out when they don't listen to us. They'll learn.

hi, i recently rear-ended someone. nothing more than chipped paint. i was probably going 1 or 2 mph. The man got out of the car to yell at me and i apologized and what not, but then he just took off. i was going to try and talk to him about what he wanted to do about the issue but he just sped off. At the time of the minor accident, i was freaking out and didn't think to write down a license plate or anything so i don't really know what to do. does this mean he isn't going to do anything about because he just left? anybody with knowledge i would appreciate it

I don't agree with Richard's thought that the intake you linked to will pull in warmer air than the stock air box, it will most likely be the exact same (ambient) temp. You're not going to get any additional power over the stock setup with any intake system. If you are after sound, a short ram setup or something that puts a cone filter directly on the MAF, with a heat shield around around it will be a better choice. If you get any kind of cone filter or a K&N drop-in filter, follow the oiling instructions exactly. Over oiling the filter is one of the common causes of premature MAF failure. If you oil the filter properly, I've never heard of someone having a problem any sooner than with the stock airbox and paper filter.

What should we put in our storm celler?

Here in Oklahoma it seems storm season is starting early, luckily we dont live in the areas that were hit today, But it's served to remind us that tornados can come anytime of the year. We have a storm celler in our back yard, which we havent actually needed yet. but we need to put some things down there to be prepared for the coming storm season. i was thinking we might put our old kitchen table down there, and then put some rubber maid bin down there with some stuff to do, and a first aid kit. I don't know too much about any of this but I went through something deeply spiritual several years ago (about 7 years ago-- it was extremely traumatic and completely changed who I am. Stomach bloating after eating??

After I eat (anything) my stomach bloats right up like a balloon and its very painful. I have trouble wearing anything but sweatpants because its so bad. I have been having constipation and stomach pains so I have lost weight, but the bloating still is there. Been to doctors and had allergie tests, stayed away from certain foods, but still same pain and bloating. I have a Creative Zen Touch mp3 player which I have nearly filled with music. The tracks are a mixture of MP3 and WMA files. I find WMA to be as good sounding as MP3's but at a lower bit rate and thus they take up less space. Does anyone know of a free tool that will convert large batches of mp3s to wma at once? Do you think a Hysterectomy is the right choice for me?

I'm 33, married and infertile. Well, I've been trying to conceive for six years with out any success. Ovarian cyst are very common to me. I even had to have one surgically removed which left slight scaring on one ovary. However, there was still hope for pregnancy. My husband and I have tried and tried again even with prescribed fertility pills. But no avail. At this point, I've lost hope. I mean, I can't afford all those fancy fertility treatments but I do need closer, so that I'm not hoping for a mircale month to month. Do you think a hysterectomy would be wise? I have a excel worksheet that I import numbers into from a commodity trading program. The problem I have is that the numbers that come in are in 1/8ths instead of whole numbers. For example 300.5 (half) will come in as 300.4. Is there any way to write a macro to convert all the XXX.4 to XXX.5? I need to do this for all the 1/8th. Another example 302.2 should be 302.25. XXX=.1 =XXX.125 XXX.3=XXX.375, XXX.5=XXX.625. Would it be possible to create a macro that does that? I have no programming knowledge at all and info on where to get started would be great. The pilot on my millivolt gas fireplace stay,s lit but the burner won,t ignite?

Is the gas valve on the correct setting? There is a pilot setting and gas on setting. Make sure it points to the on position. Check the wiring that supplies power to the millivolt switch to make sure they are all connected. If the switch takes batteries, check them or replace them. If you are using a remote control, check the batteries in it also. Sometimes my fireplace does that and I just flip the switch on and off a few times and it comes on. Good luck!

I make my own laundry soap, and in doing so, I use a laundry bar called 'Zote'. It is a very popular laundry soap bar in Mexico, but widely available in the US. My daughter had gotten black oil all over a white and red dress. I washed it, then soaked it in Oxyclean with no success. THEN, I remembered that I had the Zote bar. I took the wet dress, put it on my kitchen sink divider and centered the stain right on the divider. Then I took a good size chunk of the Zote bar and rubbed really hard on the stain. The oil came out like magic! I couldn't believe it. I guess that the soap broke up and displaced the oil trapped in the fibers. I hope that this will help you, too.

Confused about basement finishing in New England...

Had a similar problem with my basement in CT. All I did was put an air conditioner in and it works better than any dehumidifier. My pipes in the ceiling don't get condensation on them any more. It stays dry all the time and doesn't smell either. Make sure to spray the walls with bleach to get rid of your mold. You do need to invest in gutters and make sure the down spouts are connected to underground pipes that brings the water far away from you house. Try the AC first, I think you will like the results and it's also the cheapest way to start. Make sure you get a big enough one.

Ok, this is a long story but i'm lossing my mind and need help PLEASE!!!!?

So my husband hurt his back in febuary and workmans comp gave excuses as why they weren't covering it. something like you saw too many doctors. The day of (feb 14th) he went to see a doc who wanted to give him pills for the pain but not treatment.. said if not working come back in a week. Week later he came back only to Urgen care because it was the weekend and his back was really hurting. They took x-rays and said there was nothing wrong with his back and again instead of trying to treat the problem they wanted to give him pain med, he refused cuz its just hiding the pain instead of treating it and he wanted to know what his limits were. Shortly after he went to the chiropractor and he needed x-rays we said docs had taken them we brought them to him and turned out they took x-rays of the wrong part of his back! Chiro took x-rays and didn't see anything but said he thinks he could fix it but it would take three visits a wk for six months.. can't afford it.we went for a while but couldn't keep up and this is when we found out work-comp wouldn't cover and we had a bill of like 1500 dollars. so we stopped and hoped his back would recover...in about september he tried to get a job and it just worsened his back. I was told about taking work-comp to court and tried and lawyer said things about work-comp said the doc never said he couldn't go back to work we went to doc and he said that he should have been fine. He suggested physical therapy...physical therapist says that he can't afford him and gave him some excersices and sent him on his way. He said a MRI would be good but again pricey. So we decided screw it we can make payments and set up an apointment for an MRI and they said that we had to see the doctor again to see if nessasary which i think is absolutely ridiculous cuz everyone said that it would be good and they aren't doing it because we have no insurance and no money. workmans comp is being difficult and heartless and hospital isn't working out. Im stressed because i only make 7.90/hr and am trying to support my husband and I and we are now living with my in-laws cuz we can't afford our own place. (newly weds also) I can't afford to do anything and he can't work...im gong nuts. any advice as to how this can be resolved? I break down daily trying to figure it out. im hoping i didn't leave anything out but will add if an answer strikes something...need any other info just ask and i will add detail... any infor will help PLEASE am loosing my mind anythingwill help... :(

Adopting a wonderful big dog?

I want to ask this question because i am getting a st bernard and i have 2 young kids which i am concerned about. The question is Have you ever been kissed (licked) by a slobbery dog (st bernard, mastiff, great dane. bulldog, boxer)? What did it feel like? How wet was it? The reason i want to know is because this st bernard slobbers a ton and is very affectionate (he likes to kiss your faace, lips and mouth). My wife and i are ok with that but i just want my 2 kids to not be alarmed or harmed by the slobber. Is their any diseases they can get from being given wet slobbery kisses. for sure twin tips are every bit as good as normal AM skis. some twin tip skis are super flexy for ers and nose presses, but if you get a good pair of stiffer skis like the volkl walls, armada ar6s, dynastar trouble makers ect (freeskier magazine does ski ratings and provide all moutain ratings on park skis) ... they are just as good at carving, the only difference is that they have wider waists than standard skis and not much bigger tips so some have bigger turning radiuses. also if you get them center mounted, it is not any worse it just takes a bit of geting used to.

Car electrical issues. Alternator? Battery?

Sounds like your alternator isn't charging the battery. When the car is "normal", you should see the idiot light for the alternator light up when you are starting the car.... when the key is turned to the start position and the engine is being turned by the starter. This tells you that the light bulb that is the alternator indicator is not burned out. That way, when you do have a problem with the alternator, the light will light and then you'll know that you have an alternator problem.

i live in connecticut, i have a part time job at a video store, this past weekend we suffered our first snowstorm of the season, i am only scheduled to work 1 day a week. however im a good worker (i thought) and called my boss saturday afternoon and let her know that i wouldnt be able to make it in on sunday if the weather continued the way it was. she said noone in the store is available to work, so i called other stores, to no avail, noone could or wanted to work. evidently she gave everyone who wrks in our store the night off. she also told me that shed hate to see me miss my only shift of the week because of the weather, which to me sounds like she'll understand if i couldnt make it to work. sunday comes round and i can see that where i live travel was going to be dangerous, at 5pm when i had to b there and especially more so at 10pm when my shift ended. so i made a safety first call and told the t manager that i couldnt make it. needless to say that when i tried to find coverage again noone wanted to work. apparently not the store manager or the istant manager who by the way lives about 5 minutes from the store. when i went in on monday night to talk to my manager, and check the schedule i noticed that on the 28th i was scheduled to work but my name crossed off. She also informed me that i wouldnt be spoken too until after the holidays. so now i have to wait at least a week to find out if im fired or not and this being the holidays thats just not right. Now my question is basically, what did i do to warrant that. and is there any thing i could say or do legally. i have no verbal warnings, or written warnings about this. this was my first call out, and yes i did call out. the day before actually, and i talked to the store mangaer about it, but because she drives a truck and lives closer to the store than i, she says the roads were ok enuff for her to drive on. not in my car it isnt. y put myself or any one else in jeopardy because of a job that im only scheduled to work 1 five hour shift where im also not even insured to protect myself from an accident or its cost. the more i think about it the more i realise that my rational way of thinking was wrong, i just umed that as a store manager or istant manager that they were on call as much as possible, and the istant doesnt work more than 25 hours a week so its not a case of him working too much, but as management isnt part of the job to work when noone else can, i did when i was a store manger at 3 different places. Also i always thought that when doing the schedule its first come first serve when it comes to days off, you cant give the other 7 employees the same day off, but again maybe im in the wrong. please let me know what u think about this subject.
