Can I be reunited with my astral body if the silver cord has been severed and where is it now?

I don't know too much about any of this but I went through something deeply spiritual several years ago (about 7 years ago-- it was extremely traumatic and completely changed who I am. I felt that my Spirit was separated from my body. I literally felt my heart break and thereafter, my health began to deteriorate. I can feel adrastic change in the energy's vibrations. I tried to write about it to get myself through the pain, but I could never articulate the extent of this experience's affect on me to anyone else. I was doing research on spirituality and read about the Silver Cord and how it keeps the astral body connected to the physical body. I believe wholeheartedly that what I experienced was the severing of my astral body from my physical body. This description matched closest with my experience. I now believe that a broken heart can cause any and all types physical disease of the body. Though time has eased the pain a little, the wound caused by the schism is still there.
